Shamanic Journeying
Exploring Our Themes Through Shamanic Practice
Meets monthly from October to February (5 months)
This new monthly-meeting small group will explore our monthly themes through shamanic practices. Led by UU minister and shamanic practitioner, Rev. Laura Horton-Ludwig, participants will learn and practice in the tradition of Core Shamanism, using a safe and ethical method of steady drumming that helps your mind shift into a more meditative state.
What might you experience? Imagine yourself traveling down into the earth and emerging in a beautiful, peaceful otherworld of forests, lakes, and plains. And now imagine that in this beautiful world, you meet a power animal—a spirit being—who has been waiting for you all your life, ready to guide and support you. You will learn to journey there whenever you want, to ask for healing and help for yourself and your community, and to develop deep friendships with these compassionate spirits. For many thousands of years, in every place on Earth where humans have lived, people have been practicing in this way. Now you can too! Participant Details
