Monthly Theme-Based Children RE Packets
Now includes one-room school house packets!

This is our core religious education resource.  It includes three resources in this single subscription:
  • 10 Lower Elementary (K - 2nd grade) packets, one for each month Sept - June,
  • 10 Upper Elementary (3rd - 5th grade) packets, one for each month Sept-June,
  • 10 One-Room Schoolhouse (k - 5th grade) packets, one for each month Sept-June.
We offer all three of these to support the wide variety of programs and wide variety of needs in our UU congregations.  ​

Details 
  • Each monthly packet includes 4-5 weekly sessions.
  • Packets are chocked full (over 25 pages) of stories, experience-based learning activities, embodied chalice lights & extinguishing, games, crafts, hand-ons activities, videos, and more. 
  • ​Based on subscriber feedback, our packets now focus on stories and experiential learning through games and hands-on activities. Not only do we research for the most engaging stories, games and activities, we make sure and offer numerous options of each of those. So there are always multiple stories, games and activities to choose from.
  • Knowing that RE programs differ greatly, we use a "building block" curriculum approach, rather than what might be called a “recipe approach.” So, instead of offering rigid step-by-step lesson plans, we provide numerous and flexible components (i.e. building blocks) that enable you to pick the components and parts to build the program experience that best fits you church culture and kids.
  • Our Director of RE Resources, April Rosario, works with other teammates and strategically-recruited colleagues to ensure that our packets include ARAOMC ("Anti-Racist, Anti-Oppression,Multi-Cultural") and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) resources and lenses throughout our sessions.​
  • All subscribers have access to our RE Leader Facebook page where RE leaders offer support and ideas to each other and the Soul Mattes team posts additional material/ideas.​

Crossing Paths is a Soul Matters twist on the popular UU Jr high youth curriculum, Neighboring Faiths.  While rooted in interfaith engagement, our curriculum is focused on helping youth develop and clarify their own UU identity.

Our monthly high school youth packets are uniquely designed to support maximum flexibility, with an organizational structure that supports programs of all types: weekly meeting groups, twice-a-month groups and single session once-a-month groups.
