Youth Group Resource Packets
Designed for Theme-Based & Non Theme-Based Churches Alike!

Designed for flexibility and filled with creative, UU faith-based games, spiritual practices, multi-media activities, creative projects and discussion starters, our monthly youth packets lessen youth advisors' planning time so they can focus on the work of relationship.
While the packets are structured around our Soul Matters themes, these themes are general ones that speak to the universal journey of youth. So even if you are not a theme-based congregation, the packets will support your program. Our Approach Journey Centered: We call this series "On the Road Together" to honor how youth groups offer young adults partners on their journey. Our “on the road” frame also highlights the ways in which each monthly theme is a path all youth need to learn to navigate. Built for Maximum Flexibility: Youth ministry and youth groups look very different across our congregations and even within a congregation week to week. Knowing that no two youth programs are the same, the design of our monthly packets lean heavily into what we call "our building block approach." We think of this as akin to the “old-school" creator kit sets of Lego building blocks that gave suggested instructions for many possible builds with the same set of blocks, rather than the modern specific Lego kits that have to be built only one way. So instead of organizing each monthly packet just to support programs that meet weekly each month, we offer one large section of activities organized by type (check-in, discussion starters, UU connections, multi-media, games, creative projects, etc). A smaller section of the packet is then devoted to suggested outlines for how you can use these many activities to build program sessions of all types: weekly meeting groups, twice-a-month groups and single session once-a-month groups. You, of course, do not have to follow our suggested session outlines. You could instead go through the activity sections and build your own sessions. This will be a great option for the many of you who told us that your youth like to build their own sessions. You can read more about our flexibility-centered approach HERE.
