What's Included - Our Offerings
Those subscribing to our current year full series have access to all of the resources below.

Small Group Packets: This is our core offering. Each month, members receive a new small group packet on the current monthly theme. These packets are designed to support our unique approach to small group experience and include spiritual exercises, questions that encourage reflection on daily living and 5-7 pages of provocative resources that help participants explore the themes in more depth.
Worship Resources: Our monthly worship packet includes over 20 pages of resources for all aspects of worship: from opening words and meditations to music, sermon seeds and recommended sermons. Additionally, we've created online environments for preachers, musicians and worship leaders to plan together and support each other. For instance, we have a facebook group for preachers specifically and another for all worship leaders. We also host monthly online planning labs, one for preachers, another for all worship leaders and a third for musicians. These are valuable times for us to brainstorm, plan together and share additional resources on the themes. Religious Education Resources: Our monthly children's RE packet includes over 40 pages of session plans and building blocks to help you create your own own unique lessons and learning environments around the themes. We also have a very active Facebook support group for religious educators. Additionally, our RE Resources Coordinator, Katie Covey, hosts a monthly online "co-laboratory" where RE professionals plan together, share ideas and offer support. New Member Orientations: Two-three times a year (usually August, January and May), we host a webinar for new subscribers to Soul Matters. All key leaders are encouraged to attend, including small group facilitators, worship leaders and RE leaders. These orientation webinars review the resources we offer, go into detail about the Soul Matters approach to small groups and theme-based ministry and answer any questions leaders have. This is an ongoing resource. Leadership changes in our congregations, so whenever a new leader gets involved, congregations can send them to one of these orientations to help them better understand our resources, theme-based ministry and the Soul Matters model. Small Group Facilitator Support: For on-going support and as a way of helping facilitators support each other, we host a closed Facebook page for all Soul Matters facilitators. Access is free with your congregation’s annual subscription. Additionally, for a small fee, we offer more in-depth online trainings three times a year for small group facilitators new to Soul Matters. We also offer once-a-month small groups for facilitators, led by our team lead and founder of Soul Matters, Rev. Scott Tayler. Each monthly meeting is run as a small group and follows the packet for the upcoming month. This allows facilitators to have a “dry run” of the session they will be leading the following month. It’s a different way of thinking about training. Instead of being instructed about how to run the upcoming session, you get to directly experience it. Along the way, Rev. Tayler pauses to point out tips and group process. Maybe most importantly, this approach allows facilitators to be spiritually nourished by the sharing of fellow facilitators from around the country. These monthly meetings also come with small participant fee. Online Daily Inspiration for All of Your Members: In addition to our Facebook support pages, we have a Facebook inspiration page that is open to all members of participating Soul Matters congregations. This inspiration page provides your small group participants and church members with inspiration on the themes throughout the week. It functions like an online devotional and supports members as they weave the theme into their daily living. Additionally, this Facebook page can serve as a tool to enhance your congregation’s own Facebook page. All you have to do is "repost" our posts to your congregation’s Facebook page. Instead of having to develop inspiration and social media memes on your own, you can lean on our Facebook page and tap into the work we’ve already done. Online Leadership Collaboration Labs: We host a number of online collaboration meetings each month so leaders can share additional resources with each other and talk about engaging the themes in their various ministries. Currently we hold separate online meetings for worship teams, ministers, religious educators and music directors. Leadership and Implementation Tools: In addition to our monthly resource packets and support opportunities, we regularly produce a variety of tools to help members integrate our themes into their programming. These implementation tools include such things as thematized music recommendations, small group training guides and charts that link monthly holidays to the themes. On top of all this, you also have access to our entire Soul Matters staff team. We are available answer questions and offer support. |
