New Facilitator Training
This two-hour online training for new small group facilitators covers the Soul Matters facilitation model, our unique approach to deep and disciplined listening, tips for handling facilitation challenges and start up strategies. Soul Matters founder and Team lead, Rev. Scott Tayler, leads the training. Designed for new facilitators but also serves as a great tune-up training for long-time facilitators!

Advanced Facilitator Training - 3-Month Lecture Based (Sept-Nov)
This 3-session advanced facilitator training covers the three core stages of small group development:

Advanced Facilitator Training - Lecture Based
Getting Your Group Off the Ground (single-session event) This single-session, 1 1/2 hour training covers everything you need to know about getting groups off the ground, including covenant formation, start-up meetings, teaching the Soul Matters discernment practices, advertising, etc.

Advanced Facilitator Training - Lecture Based
Facilitation Tips & Problem Solving Deep Dive (single-session event) This single-session, 1 1/2 hour training covers advanced facilitation tips, handling challenging group dynamics, check-in & check-out strategies, and scripts to introduce the listening and response rounds. There will also be time to address challenges your are facing in your groups.

Adapting Our Model (single-session event) There are many reasons you might want to adapt our Soul Matters small group model:

Taste of Soul - How To Training (single-session event)
This unique training teaches you how to run a "Taste of Soul" event at your church. Taste of Soul is a drop in meeting, usually held after Sunday service, at which people interested in joining a Soul Matters small group can experience one first hand, in an abbreviated form. Our Team Lead, Rev. Scott Tayler, leads the training. He will cover the structure of these meetings, best practices, facilitating tips and marketing strategy.
It is one of the most effective ways to get people excited about joining your small groups! We highly recommended that you take our New Facilitator Training prior to this training. Facilitator Trainings Tailored to Your Congregation
We now offer trainings designed for just your congregation. Rev. Tayler, our Team Lead, meets with your leadership to hear about your unique needs around facilitator training and/or growing your small group program. He then creates a training or set of trainings to address those needs and issues.
