Our Team

Picture
Director of Membership and Social Media
Susan joined the Soul Matters staff in the fall of 2016 after serving as the Small Group Program Coordinator at her home congregation, The UU Fellowship of Topeka, Kansas. She writes, “Soul Matters has transformed my life, focusing my inner contemplation while deepening my connection with others. Where I once lived life visualizing myself as a tree with a deep tap root, because of Soul Matters, I now find that my roots, thoughts, and hopes are shared in an interconnected web of roots reaching all over the world." In her role on the team, Susan ensures that those roots connecting us to each other are strong and ever-expanding.

Rev. L.A. McCrae
Worship Resources Coordinator

In addition to being on the Soul Matters team, L.A. serves as the Interim Director of Lifelong Learning for the Washington Ethical Society (an Ethical Society and UU congregation). They are also pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Public Engagement from Wesley Theological Seminary. L.A.’s diverse passions are summed up in a phrase they sometimes use to describe themselves: “Brewer, Visionary and Insurrectionist.” We so value the way they are sharing their gifts to help us expand the theological focus of our worship packets and provide an increasing amount of resources to support the goal of de-centering whiteness in worship.

Rev. Dr. Michelle Collins
Small Group & Special Projects Researcher

Michelle is a UU minister currently serving in the Lewes and Rehoboth Beach area of Delaware.  She is a graduate of Starr King School of Ministry and just received her Doctor of Ministry this spring from Wesley Theological Seminary.  Having used Soul Matters resources for seven years in her own parish setting, she brings an excellent eye for what resources serve leaders best. Her love of UU theology and history is a great gift to us. We also love it that she considers research “play”! On the personal side, Michelle resides in an awesome “tiny house on wheels” in southern Delaware, is the parent of a teenage daughter and cares for two highly demanding cats.
