Small Group Packets:  Subscribers receive a new small group packet on our new core values themes. These packets are designed to support spiritual discernment, deep listening and relationship building, with each one including spiritual exercises, reflection questions and 5-7 pages of recommended resources that help participants explore the themes in more depth.  ​We also offer extensive small group facilitation trainings for a small fee.

Worship Research Packets: Our monthly worship packets follow our monthly themes and include approximately 25 pages worth of resources for all aspects of worship: from opening words and meditations to music, sermon seeds and recommended sermons.  We also do your online permission research for you, noting when the pieces we suggest have been authorized for online use. It's important to note that we point to worship material rather than publish material, a crucial distinction as we work hard to follow copyright law and fair use practices. Think of our worship packets as a guide to the research we have done for you, in order to free you up for other ministry.

Religious Education Resources: Our monthly children's RE subscription follows our themes and includes 10 packets for upper elementary kids and 10 packets for lower elementary kids. Here are more details:
  • Each monthly RE packet covers 4-5 weekly sessions and contains over 30 pages of stories, experience-based learning activities, song ideas, mindfulness practices, body practices , games, crafts, skits, videos, and more. 
  • Knowing that RE programs differ greatly, we use a "building block" curriculum approach, rather than what might be called a “recipe approach.” So, instead of offering rigid step-by-step lesson plans, we provide numerous and flexible components (i.e. building blocks) that enable you to alter session order and pick from a variety of activity options within each session.
  • We have a Widening the Circle RE Research Team that works alongside our Director of RE Resources, April Rosario, to ensure that our packets include ARAOMC ("Anti-Racist, Anti-Oppression,Multi-Cultural") and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) resources and lenses throughout our sessions.​
  • Our packets are for congregations of all sizes, but we make an extra effort to include and adapt activities for churches with smaller RE programs. For instance, we explicitly list how many kids each activity works best with and we include activities for RE programs with only 3-5 kids in attendance in every packet.
  • Packets are "plug-and-play ready." Professional RE leaders are stretched and volunteer RE teachers have busy lives which don’t allow a lot of time to prepare for Sunday morning. So we make our RE packets  ready-to-go, cleanly-designed and easily referenced within the group time with kids.

New Subscriber Orientations: Two-three times a year (usually August, January and May), we host a free webinar for congregational leaders who are new to Soul Matters. All key leaders are encouraged to attend, including small group facilitators, worship leaders and RE leaders. These orientation webinars review the resources we offer, go into detail about the Soul Matters approach to small groups and theme-based ministry and answer any questions leaders have.
