The Vision
Writing is a long-loved path to personal insight, spiritual discernment and self-expression. By bringing the practice of writing to the exploration of our monthly themes, we hope to provide participants not only with another channel of self-discovery, but also with the gift of being witnessed in a new and precious way.  

What You Get
The subscription comes with two packets per month - a facilitator's guide and a participant packet.
​All packets are designed around our 2024-25 New Core Values Themes!
The Participant Packets includes personal warm up questions and 5-6 richly-developed writing prompts/exercises to choose from.  The Facilitator's Guide includes extra material to support facilitators as they lead their groups, such as centering words, check in options, warm up activities, and tips for guiding the discussion of the writing exercises.
  • All ten packets are available for use right away at the time of purchase.
  • Important Note: These packets follow the same new values themes that our 2024-25 core RE, worship and small group subscriptions do, but they are past year (2023-24) packets, so the packet covers will have last year's dates on them. Otherwise the content will be completely applicable to this year's 2024-25 season. ​ ​

Format and Approach
Groups are encouraged to adapt the material as best fits their group culture, but the suggested structure involves participants picking one of the writing exercises and working on it in advance of the group meeting. During the meeting, the facilitator, using the facilitator packet as a guide, leads the group through a warm up exercise, group sharing, and a closing ritual. 
Packet Creators
​Our packets are co-created by Rev. Scott Tayler, our Team Lead, and Dr. Andrea Natalia Naranjo Erazo. Andrea runs a journaling group at the National Institutes of Health.  She is ​a member of the UU affiliated Washington Ethical Society.
