Katie Covey
Director of Religious Education Resources Katie has lived and breathed the creative chaos of faith formation since 1984. She aims to place thematic ministry at the center of our service to children and youth. She seeks to smooth the path of faith formation in thematic ministry, from “not enough time and too much to cover,” to abundance found in co-creation with our peeps - children, youth, families and colleagues. She is pragmatic, calm and full of tips, wisdom and experience. She has mentored ministers and religious educators for numerous years in congregational settings, seminary classes and online. As the Soul Matters Director of RE Resources, she is passionate about taking the big abstract themes and turning them into concrete sessions for children, youth and families. Think Eensy-Weensy Spider as the embodiment of Perseverance! Explore Fibonacci’s number on the theme of Balance with the Youth! She is an author for Tapestry of Faith as well as self-published works, and knows the diversity of our congregations’ program needs. She is also the author of a book called "Full Circle; Growing Lifelong UU's" published by the UUA, which emphasizes the importance of faith formation experiences for teens. Katie is thrilled to bring her background in curriculum creation, 21st century faith formation and innovative programming to Soul Matters. Bring her gifts and experience to your church by partnering with her as a consultant and coach. |
